The salon was established in 1989 in Orangevale and has been in its current space since 2021, still within the Greenback Oaks Plaza shopping center on Greenback Lane.
New ownership expanded the business in 2000. Julie King took over ownership in 2016, and she has served as Honorary Mayor of Orangevale and as a board member of the local Chamber of Commerce.
The salon operates entirely as a booth rental business, with semi-private booths. The shift to booth rental took place in 2017 and 2018. Professionals can rent full-time, part-time or by the day.
The salon takes part in local community life, supporting the Orangevale–Fair Oaks Food Bank, running community food drives, and hosting Chamber of Commerce mixers at the salon.
The salon describes itself as award winning and says it was voted Best of Orangevale for nine consecutive years. It also says Julie King was recognized as Rotary Business of the Year.
