The Hilt Salon Fort Mill

The Hilt Salon has two locations, the Van Wyck location at 4889 Charlotte Highway in Lancaster and the Fort Mill location at 837 Stockbridge Drive. The business has been operating since 2021. The Van Wyck location is open Tuesday through Thursday 10am to 7pm, Friday 9am to 5pm and Saturday 9am to 1pm. The Fort Mill location is open Tuesday through Friday 10am to 7pm and Saturday 9am to 4pm.

Stylists at the salon carry a range of titles, including Hilt, junior, Ruby, Emerald, Diamond and Amethyst stylists, and some work as independent stylists. Founder Trayce Griffin, who leads The Hilt Collective, is among the team. According to the salon, it has more than 50 years of experience, was voted Best of South Carolina in 2024 and 2025, and has 400-plus company clients and more than 20 staff members.

A visit begins with a client concierge who greets guests and offers a beverage, coffee or snacks. Clients can book a consultation with a stylist before a first appointment, and at that consultation the stylist reviews the steps, cost and upkeep. Appointments can be booked online or by calling the salon.

The salon's app lets clients book appointments, buy gift cards, earn and use loyalty points, review their appointment history and message the salon. Extensions are offered from Covet and Mane, plus Bellami. Add-on services include treatments and waxing, and product lines for purchase include Oribe, Goldwell and KMS, among others.

Stylists hold certifications across many types of hair and extension applications.

The waiting area displays work by local artisans, and paintings, jewelry and other pieces by local makers are available for purchase.
