The Head Space Stafford

The Head Space runs three locations in Virginia, in Fredericksburg, Stafford and Chantilly. It positions itself as a place to unwind and reset, and it combines established techniques with newer treatments.

Visits center on the scalp. The Basic Scalp Treatment (45 minutes) includes a relaxation massage of the head, neck and shoulders, deep cleansing of the hair and scalp, conditioning, a herbal rinse and a serum. The Premium version (60 minutes) adds a microscopic look at the scalp, steam therapy and a hydrating hair mask. Both are designed for all hair types and textures.

Longer options pair a body massage with a premium scalp treatment. The Premium Half Body Treatment is a 30-minute massage from the waist up followed by a 60-minute premium scalp treatment, 90 minutes in total. The Luxe Full Body Treatment is a 60-minute full body massage followed by the premium scalp treatment, 120 minutes in total. Every scalp and body service can be booked for one person or for two. Couple appointments are not arranged romantically, so guests may bring a friend or anyone they choose.

The Mini Facial is a 30-minute facial focused on hydration and glow. It is offered at the Fredericksburg and Stafford locations and can also be added to head spa services. Hair is lightly blow-dried to about 70 to 90 percent dry, depending on hair density. Chantilly and Stafford have self-service styling stations for finishing.

On the Chantilly booking page, the Basic Scalp Treatment is $89, the Premium Scalp Treatment $119, the Premium Half Body Treatment $159 (1 hour 30 minutes) and the Luxe Full Body Treatment $189 (2 hours). Two-person versions are $168, $228, $308 and $368. The business says Chantilly prices are higher than at its other locations because its commercial rent there is about three times theirs. Booking online requires a 50 percent deposit, which is fully refundable with at least 24 hours notice of cancellation; paying the balance in cash at the store earns a $10 discount.
