The Hair Collaborative

The Hair Collaborative opened in 2019 as a team of independent stylists in Frankfort, Illinois, and was founded by Amanda, who owns the salon and works behind the chair as a stylist. Each stylist runs an independent business under the same roof, so the team operates as a shared space rather than a single salon with one shared schedule. The salon says its aim is beautiful hair and genuine connection with clients, and that its stylists support one another and share what they know.

Because each stylist is independent, clients book with the person they want. Every stylist sets their own schedule, cancellation timeframes and deposit requirements, so those terms can differ from one chair to the next. Clients book through the Book Now button on each stylist's profile on the Team page. The salon has no front desk or salon phone number, and the salon email cannot change appointments, collect fees or process refunds for stylists, so clients contact their own stylist directly to reschedule or cancel.

Space is limited, so clients are asked to come to appointments alone where possible, and children not receiving services and pets should stay home. Arriving late may mean a shortened service. Arrivals more than 15 minutes late may need to reschedule and may face a late cancellation fee. Stylists interested in joining the team can apply through the Join Our Team page.

The salon describes its stylists as independent professionals who learn from one another, with each stylist managing their own bookings and policies.
