The Garden Spa was founded by Dora Bocater, who has lived on Kauai for more than 15 years. The spa describes itself as a unique place that reflects the calm beauty of Kauai, and says its treatments bring a healing touch to both body and facial services.

About

The massage menu runs from lomilomi, sports and Swedish to deep tissue, shiatsu, prenatal, craniosacral, acupressure, myofascial release, reflexology and lymphatic work. Customized sessions run 60, 90 or 120 minutes and finish with a foot wrap infused with herbs. Couples can book side-by-side sessions that end the same way. Deep tissue can be added to either type of session for $20.

The facial menu starts with a Signature Facial, offered for 60 or 90 minutes, which includes two deep cleanses, an enzyme scrub, extractions when needed, high frequency, face and neck massage, herb-infused towels and a hydrating seaweed and green tea mask. The Anti-aging Facial (75 or 90 minutes) adds ultrasonic treatment, a glycolic or lactic pumpkin peel, a serum and microcurrent. Dermaplaning uses a surgical blade to remove peach fuzz and dead skin without chemicals. The Sculpting Facial and Buccal Treatment is a non-invasive face and neck treatment offered for 75 or 90 minutes, and a 2-hour version with cupping and Gua sha is also listed. A 30% pumpkin peel can be added to the Signature Facial for $20.

Waxing covers arms, back, bikini, Brazilian, face and legs, in single areas or larger sections. The spa describes its Brazilian waxing technique as all-natural and less painful. For a first waxing visit, hair should be about 1/4 inch long, and clients are advised to do a salt scrub 24 hours beforehand and avoid lotion and caffeine before the appointment.

Spa packages combine massage and face treatments in one visit, including Sweet Treat (90 minutes) and Ultimate Bliss (105 minutes), which the spa calls its most popular treatment, along with couples versions. Surf lessons can be booked through the website. Clients are asked to arrive at least 5 minutes early, and a no-show or same-day cancellation is charged the full service amount. Gift cards do not expire and can be used only for treatments. Hours are Monday to Saturday 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM and Sunday 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM. Parking is limited at the Gold Coast lot, with street parking also available. The entrance is across from Pannikin Coffee and Tea, through a brown gate beside The Garden Spa sign.
