About

The Electrolysis Studio works in electrolysis, a method that treats individual hair follicles by sending a current through a fine probe to disable each hair. The studio says the method is offered for all hair colors and skin tones, and it describes electrolysis as the only FDA-approved method for permanent hair removal.

Because hair grows in cycles, treatment is planned as a custom series of sessions rather than a single visit. The number of sessions depends on the treated area, hair density, hormonal influences, previous hair removal methods and how consistently appointments are kept. The studio gives an average time commitment of about 18 months, with appointments becoming less frequent as treatment progresses.

A visit can begin with a consultation, which may include a test treatment. Sessions are priced by length, starting at $45 for 15 minutes and rising to $170 for 90 minutes, with 30, 45 and 60 minute options in between. The studio notes that most clients describe the sensation as a mosquito bite or warmth, and that pain tolerance varies from person to person.

The studio serves clients with hormonal hair growth and clients who are transitioning. New clients start by texting the studio with their name and the area they want treated, since online booking is reserved for existing clients. Cancellations need at least 24 hours' notice to avoid fees.

Treatment is planned as a custom series of sessions, with each client's plan built around their needs.
