The practice is at Peachtree Parkway in Cumming and focuses on electrolysis for permanent hair removal. It is suited to small areas, such as single stubborn hairs on the chin, the brows or around the nipple. Electrolysis can treat all hair colours, including blonde and white hair, and the practice describes it as suitable for all skin and hair types.
Each hair is treated on its own, and about 40 follicles can be treated in a 15-minute session. A fine sterile needle delivers an electric current into the follicle to damage the cells that produce growth. The practice uses sterile disposable probes, a Apilus Platinum 27 MHz epilator and a Zeiss surgical microscope so the technician can see fine hair clearly. Some clients find the treatment painful, though the practice notes it is usually not enough to need a topical numbing product.
Beyond electrolysis, the practice offers diathermy to reduce and remove visible surface capillaries and spider veins on the face. Diathermy is recommended for small areas, while laser is the option the practice suggests for larger ones. Skin tags, which are small benign growths usually 1mm to 5mm and most often found in skin folds such as the armpits, neck and groin, are also treated, and a simple diathermy session often addresses them.
The practice states that under US FDA regulations, electrolysis is the only method permitted to claim permanent hair removal. It says clients travel some distance for treatment because it hurts less and avoids scarring. According to the practice, its electrologists completed the education required by the state of Georgia and are experienced professionals.
Works hair by hair with sterile disposable probes, and the practice says it follows all infection control standards.
