The Edge Hair Studio

The studio is on University Boulevard West in Wheaton. It is open Tuesday through Saturday and closed on Mondays and Sundays, with late hours on Wednesdays and Thursdays and an early start on Saturdays.

Services cover color work, designer cuts and styling, perms, relaxers, weaves, extensions, keratin treatments and deep conditioning. Bridal hair and makeup is booked through a set of packages, and a first-time visitor can add a $25 consultation of about 30 minutes that includes a complimentary Phyto hair analysis using a device that magnifies hair and scalp 200 times. That consultation fee is deducted from the total when booked as a same-day service appointment.

Booking color or extension work starts with a consultation, followed by a deposit of 50% to secure the appointment; deposits cannot be returned. Pricing for extensions, chemical color, and bridal and makeup packages is set during that consultation. Before any chemical service, the client talks with their stylist first. The salon does not accept liability for hair damage resulting from chemical or color treatments.

Payment is accepted in cash and major credit cards for services and products, and tips can be paid in cash or added to the card total. A $15 late fee applies at 15 minutes and a $30 fee at 30 minutes when the appointment can still be accommodated, and arrivals more than 30 minutes late may be treated as no-shows. Cancellations or reschedules within 24 hours carry a $50 fee, and same-day cancellations and no-shows carry a $50 rebooking fee charged to the card on file. Changes can be made through the booking app, the confirmation email link, or by phone; texts and marketing emails are not accepted.

The team keeps up with continuing education to stay current on fashion and style trends. Product lines are selected for performance, ingredients and quality, according to the salon.
