The Doll's Project combines a retail shop with a hair appointment studio. Clients can buy wigs and hair products on site, then book a stylist for installs, touch-ups, coloring and other hair services.
The business calls itself the number one local virgin hair vendor. That is the salon's own claim. Wigs in the shop include the Deep Wave HD Wig, Body Wave Wig and Silky Straight HD Wig, priced from $425.00.
Appointments require a $25 deposit, which is non-refundable, and the rest is paid at the visit. Accepted payment for appointments is cash, Zelle or Cash App. A $25 late fee applies when a client arrives more than 15 minutes late, and appointments are cancelled automatically after 20 minutes.
Bookings are for the client alone, so guests such as parents, friends and partners are not allowed. Clients under 18 should make sure their parents know the rules. Wigs and lace frontals are dropped off one to three days ahead; a $25 same-day fee applies to clients who cannot drop off, and drop-offs are not taken on Sundays or Mondays.
The shop accepts only HD lace or thin transparent lace. Dark, grey, black or stained lace is turned away. Hair carrying oil or moisture is not accepted for service, whether the client brings it or the shop's own oils are on it.
Walk-ins are possible when they are announced on Instagram. On fully booked days a $300 squeeze-in fee applies, and clients should text ahead to check availability. Stocking caps are included with services, while hair accessories and pins are not. Water and snacks are offered when available. Clients should park across the street, since the spot in front of the shop is for employees only.
Sales are final on all products. Clients can pick up locally, and overseas shipping is available at rates that depend on the country.
The salon says it believes in quality over quantity.
The salon describes its space as friendly and safe, with no tolerance for bad attitudes or gossip about stylists or clients.
