The Current Electrolysis Studio

The Current Electrolysis Studio is an electrolysis practice in Natick, run by owner and registered electrologist Terri Kanieff. Treatments address unwanted hair on the face and body. The studio describes itself as an LGBTQ+ safe zone and welcomes clients seeking hair removal for many different reasons.

Electrolysis works by inserting a fine filament into each follicle and releasing a measured electrical current to the hair root. Permanent removal takes a series of treatments, and the studio notes that completing an area usually takes one and a half to three years, depending on hair volume, density, location and other factors. According to the website, electrolysis can be done on any skin tone and any hair color.

Appointments run from 15 minutes to two hours, priced from $45 for a 15-minute session. Office hours are Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday, by appointment only. Payment is accepted in cash, check or Venmo. A complimentary consultation is offered, with or without treatment. Hairs inside the nose and ear canal are not treated.

The studio works from a base of communication, trust and comfort, and aims to help each client reach the goal of being hair free.
