The Curl Salon specializes in curly and wavy hair and describes itself as a luxury salon for curls. It has two locations: Minneapolis, on Hennepin Avenue, and Lake Elmo, on Hudson Boulevard North, which the business also calls its East Metro location.

Each service is designed with the client's hair texture in mind. The menu is organized into curly cuts such as bang trims, undercuts, Curls on the Run and the signature Curly Cut; hair color including all over color, gloss, grey blending, color correction, Rainbow Brights and blonde work; curl styling for everyday wash-and-wear or special occasions; and treatments such as Curl Detox, Micro Mist, scalp treatment and deep conditioning. Straight cuts, kids' cuts, men's grooming and makeup are also on the menu.

Both locations are by appointment only. New clients can start with a complimentary New Client Consultation, and a complimentary Platinum Card Consultation includes a strand test before color. The Minneapolis salon is open Monday to Thursday 10am to 8pm, Friday 9am to 8pm and Saturday 9am to 6pm. Lake Elmo is open Thursday to Saturday 10am to 6pm and has a parking lot with easy access from highways 94, 494 and 694.

For weddings, bridal hair can range from soft waves to updos and works with curly and textured hair. Bridal party styling is offered for bridesmaids, mothers of the bride or groom and other members of the party, and a trial session is recommended before the wedding day. Hair is priced at $100 per person and makeup at $80 per person. The Private Bridal Experience is priced at $500 and rents the entire salon for the bride and her party for a private appointment, including use of a steamer for the wedding dress.

The salon offers free back-to-school haircuts for children through its curly initiatives, and it partners with Wigs for Kids to support children facing medical hair loss.

Services are planned around each client's hair texture, with the aim of working with curls rather than against them.
