The Curl Lab

The Curl Lab is a hair business built around curly hair. It is located at 1975 Diamond Blvd, Suite 15 in Concord, inside Sola Salon. The aim is to find the right formula for each client's hair rather than apply one routine to everyone, and the business serves both curly and straight hair.

Products are chosen for being environmentally safe and free of sulfates, silicone and parabens. Color is organic and ammonia-free. After each service, clients are taught enough to keep their hair in good condition at home between visits.

Appointments are offered one month at a time, and online booking opens on the 15th of the month before. Color is currently for existing clients only and is booked by phone or email. Cancellations made at least 24 hours ahead are free; later cancellations or reschedules carry a fee of half the service price, and a missed appointment without notice is charged in full and may affect future bookings. Arriving 15 or more minutes late means rescheduling, with the same half-price fee. Curly cuts need dry, detangled hair. Styling products are welcome, but hats, pins, buns and scarves are not, since they can stretch curls. Guests who are not receiving a service may not attend appointments, and services are offered to children aged 12 and older. Prices are not set by age or gender, and an extra product or detangling fee may be added when needed.
