The Copper Strand works out of Studio 8 in Suite 107 on Cumberland Drive in Papillion, Nebraska. It is a one-stylist business, and Lexi Hefling is the independent stylist behind the work. Color is the largest part of the menu, with cuts for every length and age, perms, event styling and facial waxing also offered.

Color ranges from a single all-over shade, including root retouches, to bleach-and-toner blonding, dimensional color, highlights and lowlights, foil work, balayage and vivid fashion color. Color consultations are free, last 30 minutes and can include a test strand when needed. Smoothing options include a Wella treatment for dry, frizz-prone hair, which is by consultation only and starts at $175, and a free consultation for Qiqi or Brazilian blowout smoothing.

Hours are midday to 8 PM on Mondays and Thursdays, 9 AM to 5 PM on Wednesdays, 11 AM to 7 PM on Fridays and 8 AM to 4 PM on Saturdays, with the studio closed Tuesdays and Sundays. New clients pay a deposit when booking certain color, perm and smoothing services. Clients are asked to cancel at least 24 hours ahead; later cancellations or no-shows may be charged 30% of the appointment.
