Each stylist sets their own prices, services and hours, books their own appointments, takes payment directly from their clients and rebooks their next visit.

Appointments are the only way in. Clients choose a stylist through the Artists page and can text or email that stylist with questions before booking. The front door stays locked, so visitors ring the doorbell to be let in. The salon describes its feel as cozy and friendly, with a one-on-one setting. Complimentary bottled water, sparkling water, pop, tea and coffee are offered, along with magazines, free wifi and a sunny waiting area. The salon says clients value its thorough consultations, and it describes its Yelp ratings as excellent.

Street parking is available on Lincoln Ave, and some spots behind the salon on Hermitage may be open. The Addison and Paulina stops on the Brown Line are each about a four-minute walk away.

The color menu is organized by result rather than technical terms: establishing color for a new client's first visit, maintenance color for highlighted clients every 8 to 10 weeks, re-establishing color for returning clients one to two times a year, and low upkeep color with a few highlights around the hairline and part. Listed prices run from $15 for barbering services to $300 for keratin, and each stylist sets their own.
