The Brow Bottega

The Brow Bottega is a brow-only salon in Detroit, founded and owned by Janée Angelíque. The salon describes itself as the city's first and only unisex brow salon, a claim it makes about itself. It welcomes clients of varied ethnicities, nationalities and identities.

Each visit opens with a short one-on-one consultation. Shaping is planned around the client's natural brow growth, bone structure and facial features, with the goal of balance, harmony and symmetry. Waxing is suited to fine or thinning brows, and threading is suited to thicker or fuller ones. Tinting is light and meant to enhance the natural brow rather than overpower it.

Services are given in a private suite and booked by appointment only. Requests need at least 48 hours' notice, and the schedule is updated weekly. Clients are asked to arrive on time, call when they arrive for instructions, and come in with brows and lashes free of makeup and long-wear or waterproof products. Payment is accepted by Zelle and cash, and Cash App and Venmo may carry additional processing fees. The salon does not offer makeup or dramatic brow alterations.

The salon has been featured in Allure Magazine (January 2018), Metro Times, The Michigan Chronicle and The Hub. It also says Allure recognized it nationally for brows in Detroit.
