The Brow Bar

The Brow Bar works out of two locations, one in Garden Grove, California and one in Oakdale, Minnesota. The business focuses on permanent cosmetic tattoo work for the brows and lips and on eyelash extensions. Through its artists it also offers Nano Hairstrokes, fine line tattoos and a body tattoo service.

Clients can book brow appointments online at either location. The online booking page sorts requests into new brow, new lip and new eyeliner visits, a category for returning clients in Minnesota, and brow touch-ups scheduled four to ten weeks out. Each visit begins with a consultation and a design session with the artist, and the shape is approved before any tattooing takes place.

Microblading is drawn by hand with a handheld manual tool, producing fine, hair-like strokes. It suits clients with dry or normal skin who have never had eyebrow tattooing. Microshading pairs microblading at the front of the brow with a shaded effect that runs through the brow. Ombre powder brows give a soft shaded look that is lighter at the front and darker toward the tail, and the work is offered for all skin types, including oily skin. Pigment is mixed in custom tones and placed into the dermis. An ombre powder brow session takes about three hours, and the results can last four years or more. Eyebrow tattoos generally begin to fade after two to three years, and the business recommends a yearly color refresher to keep them defined.

Lip blush and eyelash extensions are also offered, with extensions available in classic, volume, mega volume, wet lash and other styles.

The business has an academy that teaches fundamental and advanced PMU trainings, and its artists offer tattoo training and apprenticeships, including guidance through the Minnesota state apprenticeship program.
