The Braid Bar LA was opened in 2016 by Twy, and Twy and Brea are now co-owners. The business has two locations: the downtown Los Angeles salon and a Corona salon that Brea runs.

Individual styles are priced by size at medium length, from extra small at $600 down to super jumbo at $175, with add-ons for longer lengths: low back $25, waist $50, butt $100 and thigh $175. Bohemian individuals are priced by size and length, with optional boho add-ons for extra pieces. Egyptian styles, braid ponies at standard length, and Cali rows in several braid counts, sizes and layers are also offered. Cali rows can be done with or without blow dry, and Cali rows with a design are quoted from a photo.

The salon also works on men's braids, unisex natural hair braiding, shaved sides and back, and full head natural hair with blow dry included. Men's Cali rows with added hair are priced the same as regular Cali rows. Touch-ups and takedowns are available as their own service.

Deposits are $50, non-refundable, and deducted from the total. Deposits are paid after the booking is made, and the appointment is confirmed by sending a screenshot of the paid deposit. The remaining balance is paid in cash on the day. Appointments have a 15-minute grace period, a $20 late fee applies at 15 minutes, and an appointment is cancelled at 20 minutes late. Clients should arrive with hair washed and blow dried without oils, creams or other products, or a $20 blow dry fee applies, and natural hair should come in detangled. Hair for classic individuals, Cali rows and medium-length individuals can be bought through the salon, and clients are told which hair to buy once the appointment is confirmed.

The salon offers private one-on-one Braiding 101 workshops at the Los Angeles location, taught by Twy, covering braiding techniques. Workshop classes are non-refundable, and clients should ask about a date before paying a deposit. The shop also sells its own line of hair care products and third-party styling products.
