The Beauty Joint

The Beauty Joint opened in 2023 as a beauty studio and is run by its owner and founder, Taylor Wilsey, who also runs two sister studios in Mesa, Arizona. Ink Island is a tattoo studio, and Nail Island rents booths to nail artists. The studio describes itself as more than an average beauty salon and one of the first of its kind in the area; these are its own claims.

Each technician works independently, so booking, pricing and policies vary by technician. Clients should review both the individual technician's policies and the shop's policies before booking, since booking means agreeing to them. Clients should tell their technician if they will be late and follow that technician's tardiness policy. Children are not permitted at appointments, and guests are allowed at each technician's discretion, so it is best to ask before the visit. Disrespectful behavior toward technicians is not tolerated.

Services cover aesthetics and waxing, manicures and nail art, haircuts and color, and eyelash extensions. The tattoo offerings include 3D areola restoration tattooing, which is done after doctor clearance, and fine line cover-up tattooing of florals, botanicals or ornamental designs over scarring, where clearance from a doctor, counselor or psychiatrist is recommended. Florals, botanicals and ornamental tattoo designs up to the medium size category are offered at standard rates.

Restorative tattooing through the Project Confidence program is provided at no charge, with one session offered every three months. A restorative tattoo can also be sponsored for another person for $375, paid in full by the sponsor. The studio says it aims to give every client a five-star experience and welcomes clients of all kinds.
