Tea Spa was founded in 2011 and operates as part of Tea Spa Group, which also includes Your Wellness and Dreamland by Tea Spa. The business describes its purpose as sharing inner peace, based on the idea that caring for yourself comes first in caring for others. Its founder, Cathy, created the Founder's Signature massages, and the business says more than 1,000 CommuniTea members belong to its community.
Locations are in Bethesda, on Rockville Pike in North Bethesda, at Rockville Town Center (the Dreamland by Tea Spa spa, which is separate from the Rockville Pike location), in Gaithersburg, and in two Frederick spots. The Frederick spas are listed under the name Your Wellness by Tea Spa. Hours vary by location; Bethesda and Rockville Pike run until 8 PM on weeknights and 9 PM on Friday and Saturday, while Dreamland closes earlier on weekdays.
Massage is performed by licensed therapists and facials by licensed estheticians. Walk-ins are welcome but may wait, so the business suggests checking availability online first.
Mindfulness Membership costs $99 a month, and each payment becomes spa credit for services. Green Tea Membership costs $49 a year, gives 12 months of member pricing with no monthly commitment, does not renew automatically, and services are paid separately. Memberships are optional, and regular pricing is available to anyone.
The business also offers meditation and tea free to the community at Amata Meditation Center in Boyds, Maryland.
Built on the idea of sharing inner peace, with a goal of being a welcoming space where different healing traditions can coexist.
Every location has a couples room, and couples packages are set in a softly lit private space.
