The salon opened in late 1979 in central New Jersey. From the start, they set out to build a family-centric salon where the customer comes first.

Pricing at both locations is organized by stylist level, so the same service costs more with a more senior stylist. Stylist prices start at the lowest tier, with designers, senior designers and artistic directors priced above them. The salon describes its work as high-end and affordable.

Haircut & Style covers haircuts, blow dries and specialty finishes and updos. Color covers single-process color, extended color, partial and foil highlights, double process, balayage, men's color and toners for highlighted work. Corrective color is priced after a complimentary consultation. Texturizing and Extensions includes permanent waves, cold smoothing, heat straightening, Brazilian Blowout and Brazilian Blowout Express, and hair extensions, which are also priced after a complimentary consultation.

The salon has policies for bookings and results. Cancellations and reschedules need 24 hours notice, and late cancellations or no-shows carry a fee and may require a non-refundable deposit. Concerns about a service must be raised with management within 48 hours, and a complimentary redo or alternative may be offered. The salon does not issue refunds for services.

The company trains its own team. Its Associate Program offers hands-on instruction in technical skills, guest handling and business building, with associates working alongside mentor stylists. Associates can progress to stylist through a level-based system tied to performance. Team members also come together regularly for continuing education, and the salon offers flexible schedules.

The salon's stated goal is an exceptional client experience, and it builds its team through internal and external education and an apprenticeship-style program.
