Superlative Wax

The studio is owned by Char, who opened it in Cypress after building up waxing experience. It sits inside Sola Salon Studios near Target and Baskin Robbins, and clients can book through an online platform where gift cards are also sold.

Services range from small areas such as the chin, lip, ears, nostrils and sideburns to the neck, underarms, eyebrows, back, arms, legs and bikini areas. Single small areas start at $14, full face is $58, and Brazilian waxing starts at $70. The studio says its waxing is nearly painless.

Before a visit, hair should be about the length of a grain of rice and should not be trimmed beforehand, and skin that is sunburnt or damaged is not waxed. For one to two days afterward, clients are asked to skip workouts, saunas, tight clothing, pools, hot tubs, lakes and friction. Each appointment requires a signed consent form, and clients under 16 need parental consent for bikini services.

The studio aims to be a welcoming space where clients leave feeling confident after their services. Gloves are worn during every service, fresh applicator sticks are used for each strip, and reusable tools are washed, dried and sanitized in Barbicide between clients.
