Sugaring uses an organic sugar paste that the salon makes itself, from sugar, water and lemon juice, with honey added in some Brazilian appointments. The paste is applied against the direction of growth, which the salon says helps minimize ingrown hairs, and it lifts hair in the direction of growth without stripping the skin. Waxing uses hard body wax, soft honey wax and sugar paste, with soft wax for delicate areas such as the bikini line and hard wax for coarser hair on legs and back.
