Sugar Sugar describes itself as a woman-owned, women-led business. Its organic sugaring studio opened in 2013, and the founder, Aimee, began as an aesthetician in 2012 and developed the concept at her kitchen table in Scottsdale, Arizona, without institutional investors.

About

Hair removal is the core of the menu. Comfort Sugaring, the business's own trademarked method, covers the face, underarms, bikini and Brazilian areas for women, and the chest, back, arms, legs and buttocks for men. The sugar paste is made from sugar, lemon juice and water, and the business says it no longer uses paper strips or muslin. Before a visit, clients are asked to stop retinol products two to five days ahead and to skip exfoliating for 48 hours afterward.

Beyond sugaring, the studios offer a Brow Science menu of brow consultation, shaping, lamination with or without sugar, and tinting, along with keratin lash lifts using the Korean method. Spray tans come in classic, express and Sedona shades, with optional body polish. Men must wear underwear or a Speedos for spray tan sessions, and a tan can be booked the same day as sugaring.

The facial line, sold under the Authentic Skin name, includes named treatments such as Charcoal Detox, Diamonds and Chocolate, Farm To Facial and The Scottsdale. The Uptown is designed for men's skin, and The Trademark is customized to each client's needs. Sugar Society is a membership at $9.99 per month that offers 15 percent off services and products on each visit, plus access to the in-house Skin From Scratch line. Gift cards are sold and redeemable at all locations, and appointments can be booked online.

Clean beauty is the stated priority, with organic and vegan formulas across sugaring, tanning and facials.
