Visits are by appointment, and the studio is open Monday through Thursday, 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. Clients can pay with cash, gift cards, American Express, Discover, Mastercard or Visa. Checks are not accepted. Many services can be finished in under 15 minutes, the Brazilian included.

It is applied at body temperature, and the studio describes it as not burning the skin. Because the paste is water soluble and does not stick to live skin cells, it lifts hair along with dead skin. Clean-up is done with water, not chemical solvents.

Hair is removed in the direction it grows. The studio says this gives longer-lasting results than waxing and that the same area can be sugared again without causing skin trauma. Some facial areas are marked as sometimes needing wax instead, because the hair there grows too short for the sugar to catch.

Facials start with a consultation with a master esthetician. Options run from a 45-minute back facial to a 90-minute ideal facial, and include an essential European facial, an age defying facial and a teen facial for ages 11 to 17. Micro-needling and a glycolic 40% peel are also offered for skin texture, fine lines and sun damage.

Before a visit, clients are asked to arrive with no lotion or oil on the skin, exfoliate the day before, and have at least three weeks of hair growth. Loose clothing is suggested to reduce chafing. For a day or two afterward, the studio advises avoiding tight clothing, hot baths, saunas, sun, tanning beds, scented moisturizers and heavy sweating.

Sugaring is the core method, using a water-soluble sugar paste applied at body temperature and removed in the direction of growth. The studio presents it as a gentle alternative to waxing.
