Every visit is a private, one-on-one appointment in which the esthetician takes her time and explains each step. The studio is described as calm, private and spotless. Russian and English are spoken there.
The sugar paste is made from sugar, lemon and water, with no resins or harsh chemicals. The business says the paste grips the hair rather than live skin, which it links to less redness and irritation afterwards, and that hair is removed in the direction of growth, which it says helps reduce breakage and ingrown hairs. It presents sugaring as a gentler option than waxing.
To prepare, clients are asked to let hair grow to about a quarter inch, roughly two weeks after shaving, and to skip lotion on the day of the visit. Appointments can be booked online, new clients can use a first-visit promo code, and returning clients can ask for a loyalty card with discounts on select visits. Clients can reschedule or cancel for free up to 24 hours ahead, and nothing is prepaid; payment is made at the studio.
