Sugar Me

Sugar Me is a sugaring hair removal salon in Hazelwood, Missouri, in the Saint Louis area. The salon describes itself as a premier destination for sugaring hair removal and spa treatments. Hours are Monday to Friday 9 AM to 6 PM and Saturday 10 AM to 3 PM, with the salon closed on Sundays.

The business grew out of a mobile sugaring hair removal service that owner Danielle Brown started in 2016. Its sugaring formula was developed by Danielle using organic products, drawing on research and her own experience.

A first visit starts with a skin assessment, and first-time clients receive before and after care instructions. Hair should be about a quarter inch long before sugaring, roughly two weeks of growth, and the salon will trim hair at no charge if it has grown past that length. Clients are usually advised to return every four to six weeks and to avoid shaving or other hair removal in between. Anyone switching from waxing or another sugaring provider should wait at least four weeks after their last treatment. Rooms are secured during services and sanitized between clients.

Services cover the arms, back, abdomen, bikini line, Brazilian, buttocks and a Manzilian that treats the front and back. Brazilian sugaring is available regardless of monthly cycle; clients who go ahead are asked to use a tampon or menstrual cup. The salon does not service broken or irritated skin. Facial sugaring is not advised for clients using certain retinoid and skin-thinning treatments, and anyone on medication should check with a physician before booking.

After a service, the salon advises avoiding products that contain chemicals, fragrances or dyes, exfoliating every three days, and avoiding heavy sweating for at least 24 hours. The salon says that its non-waxing method can keep results for up to six weeks and that sugaring can assist with long-term reduction in hair growth, with regrowth becoming finer and sparser over consistent treatments.

Uses a sugaring paste made from lemon, sugar and water, applied at room temperature without wax strips or sticks. The salon describes the paste as chemical-free and hypoallergenic.
