Sucre Sugaring Studio

Sucre Sugaring Studio is on the ground floor of a blue two-story building at the northwest corner of 37th and Colby in Everett, at street level from Colby Ave. Parking is available from a lot reached off Colby Ave and another reached from the alley off 37th. Aria founded the studio, and Jessica Lee, who had worked alongside Aria at Sucre, took over ownership in 2023.

The studio says it was started with the aim of helping each guest look and feel their best. It describes itself as an inclusive space with a lively but relaxed setting, where guests are made to feel welcome and the team takes time to learn each person's hair removal goals before planning a visit.

Sugaring here uses a sugar paste made from lemon juice, water and sugar, with no chemicals or resins; it is water soluble and washes off skin and clothing. The paste is applied at body temperature, which the studio says means it does not burn the skin the way heated wax can. Hair is removed in the direction of growth, which the studio says reduces breakage and ingrown hairs compared with waxing. According to the studio, consistent appointments can lead to a long-term reduction in hair growth.

Suggested intervals vary by area: every 3-5 weeks for Brazilian maintenance, bikini and extended bikini; every 2-4 weeks for underarms; every 4-8 weeks for legs, arms, back or torso; and every 1-6 weeks for facial sugaring, or every 1-2 weeks for hormonal facial hair. Hair should be at least 1/4 inch long for a first visit, and clients who have shaved should book 2-3 weeks after. Clients are asked not to trim beforehand, to keep the area free of oils and lotions, and to avoid sun exposure or tanning for 24 hours before. Deodorant is fine for underarms. Sugaring is not done over sunburnt skin, open cuts or wounds, or moles. Clients on skin-thinning medication such as Retin-A should check with a doctor first, and Accutane users must stop at least six months before face sugaring. A lap towel is provided for bikini, Brazilian and full leg sugaring, and appointments can be rescheduled with 24 hours' notice.

Men can book most services. Brazilian and bikini services are not offered to men, and the studio does not advise sugaring men's facial hair on the lips, chin or sideburns, with eyebrows as the exception. Sugarists do not sugar male genitalia, and the studio recommends other local studios for men's Brazilian services.

Uses sugaring with a body-temperature paste that removes hair in the direction of growth, with suggested appointment intervals for each area.
