Styles From Kira is a hair salon run by Kira, who is the owner and a licensed cosmetologist. The salon focuses on microbiome-focused treatments and on caring for curly, coily and textured hair. Each client is booked into a limited schedule so the salon can give every visit what it calls a luxury experience. Services fall into five groups: natural hair services, braiding services, chemical services, weaving services and kiddie services. A shampoo and conditioning service, a steam treatment, an Olaplex protein treatment and a detangling service each take about an hour, and trimming the ends takes about 30 minutes. A silk press with a trim runs about two hours, or about two and a half hours with the Deluxe package. Braiding styles such as women's natural braids, men's full-head braids and two-strand twists or single braids generally take about an hour and a half. Children's feed-in braids take about an hour and a half to two and a half hours, depending on how many braids are done. Among the salon's specialties are medium knotless box braids, luxury silk presses, sew-ins, quick weaves and professional braiding.

Booking requires a $25 retainer fee, which is non-refundable, plus a $2 processing fee. Hair must be completely free of tangles and knots before a service, and a detangling service must be booked if that is needed. Braiding styles require hair at least 4 inches long. Braiding hair in colors 1, 1b, 2 and 4 is included in all braiding styles. Clients who skip the shampoo for a braiding service should arrive freshly washed, blow dried straight, with no oils or debris on the hair or scalp. Services are for ages 6 and up, and extra guests are not permitted. When booking more than one service on the same day, the second should be scheduled to start when the first is expected to finish.

Last-minute bookings should be made at least 12 hours before the start time; anything needed within 12 hours requires a phone call to confirm. Changes and rebooking are made only through the online booking system, which requires an account. Appointments should be rescheduled at least 48 hours ahead if a client cannot attend. Deposits are non-refundable for cancellations but can move to a rescheduled appointment made at least 48 hours in advance, and retainer fees can be transferred only when rebooked at least 48 hours before the original appointment, through the website. If the salon cancels and the appointment is not rebooked, the deposit is refunded within 24 hours. Clients have a 10-minute grace period; arriving later than that may lead to cancellation or a $1 per minute late fee. A no-call, no-show means the client cannot rebook. Services are final once the client leaves the salon, and bookings made more than 30 days ahead of the current month may be subject to change.

Hours are Monday to Friday from 5:30 pm to 10:30 pm and Saturday from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm; the salon is closed on Sunday. Payment is preferred by Zelle at the end of the service, and cash or Apple Pay are also accepted; Cash App is not accepted for final payment. Clients who have visited three or more times can ask about the salon's loyalty program at their next visit.
