Demetria Ervin, a fourth-generation cosmetologist, founded the school in October 2014. Its stated mission is to teach students the core skills of the beauty field and to serve a varied clientele, with the aim of guiding students toward certification and a professional career.

Training is hands-on, with instructors guiding students in a salon-style setting. The school describes its facility as modern and upscale. The academy also serves clients from the public in the Memphis area while it trains students.

Each program is priced as a single total that covers tuition, books, kit fees and lab fees. Cosmetology is $16,950 for 1,500 hours. Natural hair is $6,615 for 300 hours, manicure is $7,715 for 300 hours, esthetics is $9,170 for 750 hours, and the instructor program is $6,500 for 300 hours. Flexible payment plans are offered, and the tuition estimator is for planning only and is not a financing offer.

Classes are available as full-time days (Tuesday to Friday, 9:00 am to 4:30 pm, 30 hours a week), part-time days (Tuesday to Friday, 9:00 am to 2:00 pm, 20 hours a week), or evenings (Monday to Thursday, 5:00 to 10:00 pm, 20 hours a week). A Saturday session from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm is set aside for make-up hours. Applicants complete an application with a non-refundable $100 administrative fee and provide proof of age, identity and education. Students who attend continuously under a signed enrollment agreement are protected from tuition increases, and hours beyond the contract end date are charged at $15.00 per hour. Office hours are Monday to Friday 10:00 am to 5:00 pm and Saturday 1:00 to 5:00 pm.
