Studio Sueño was founded in early spring 2024 by Ricki Rodriguez, Day Corso and Sarah Gilstrap.

The business began as one space and later grew into two separate units side by side at 1430 and 1428 E. 22nd Ave. One unit handles beauty services and the other handles tattoos, so clients book with whichever side they need.

The shop says its work is built on care, curiosity and community. Its tattooers are self-taught and community-taught rather than trained through a conventional program. Co-founder Sarah Gilstrap has moved to a tattoo shop in Longmont and plans to return as a guest artist.

The shop also rents booth space to artists, with the rate set by whether an artist works part-time or full-time and discussed when an inquiry comes in. Inquiries from BIPOC artists are especially welcomed.

According to the shop, its work centres on care, curiosity and community.
