Alex Baker handles every appointment personally, so clients work directly with the owner from consultation through to the finished style. The salon aims for a warm, comfortable setting that feels welcoming to clients of every age and gender.

The salon takes a human-first approach. Appointments start with what the client wants, what they need and how they live day to day, and the salon's portfolio includes lived-in color, mullets, curly cuts and androgynous short cuts. Curly hair is a long-standing part of the work.

Services are grouped under hair and include cuts, children's haircuts, blow-dries, styling with hot tools, treatments such as deep conditioning and heavy metal detoxing, gloss, root touch-ups, traditional highlights, all-over color, balayage, global lightening retouches and custom color. Corrective color is available after an in-person consultation, and a deposit is required to book it.

Booking policies are strict and worth reading before an appointment. Cancellations need at least 24 hours' notice, and shorter-notice cancellations or no-shows are charged the full scheduled price to the card on file. Clients whose charges cannot be processed cannot book online until the balance is resolved, and services are not refunded. A free adjustment to cut, color or lightening is offered if the client gets in touch within a week of the appointment.

The salon is open Monday from 11 AM to 8 PM, Thursday, Friday and Sunday from 11 AM to 7 PM, and is closed Tuesday, Wednesday and Saturday.

Each appointment is built around the client's wants, needs, daily life and comfort, with a focus on the person rather than a single look.
