Studio 36 Salon & Academy

Studio 36 Salon & Academy operates as both a permanent makeup studio and a hair salon in Pocahontas. Its permanent makeup artists have more than 15 years of combined experience, and its stylists have more than 50 years of combined hair care experience between them.

The permanent makeup menu covers eyeliner, nano brows and lip blush, plus areola tattooing by phone inquiry. Eyeliner is priced from $300 to $450, depending on style, placement, color use and artist, and includes a touch-up at 6 weeks. Powder brows are available on request in the same price range. The studio describes nano brows as its most popular service. Lip blush is priced from $325 to $550 depending on artist and can be done as a soft blush or as a lip stick fill, with a touch-up at 8 weeks if needed. The studio describes it as its second most popular procedure.

The academy, Studio 36 PMU Academy, offers hands-on permanent makeup training in eyeliner, lip blush and brows. Courses run three to five days and include models. The lip blush course suits beginners. Enrollment is open in fall, spring and summer sessions, and course pricing is handled by phone.

Bookings are required for most visits: the salon takes appointments Tuesdays through Fridays from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Saturday services are also booked ahead. On weeknights, Monday through Friday from 5 to 8 p.m., haircut walk-ins are welcome with Dawn Rinderer.
