Studio 32 is a locally owned salon in the Highlands area of Louisville, at 2002 Highland Avenue. Tamika Nelson launched it on September 2, 2016, working out of an 80-square-foot studio inside the Heyburn Building downtown.
She worked at that original studio for 18 months before the salon moved to its current Highland Avenue space in March 2018. The salon has two stylists, each with their own specialties, and services are grouped into haircuts, styles, natural hair care, color, chemical services, protective styling, formal services and add-ons.
Natural hair care is a large part of the menu, with silk presses, twist and braid sets, rods and rollers, loc installs and retwists, and steam treatments. Color ranges from full permanent and semi-permanent color to highlights and dimensional balayage, and formal work includes bridal hair trials, special occasion updos, and custom-priced wedding and girl's night packages that begin with a consultation.
The salon is open Tuesday through Friday from 10am to 7pm and Saturday from 9am to 5pm, and it is closed on Sunday and Monday. Guests can book online through the Vagaro profile, call (502) 742-1011, or email hellostudio32@gmail.com.
