About

Studio 1945 is a salon in the Bucktown-Wicker Park neighborhood of Chicago, on North Damen Avenue. It is set up as a professional salon with an entrepreneurial focus, where each stylist works with clients in a personal, customized way.

The salon is run by appointment only. Because foot traffic is low, stylists can set their own pace with each client rather than moving between a busy floor of walk-ins. The salon describes its environment as entrepreneurial yet sophisticated.

The founder, Meredith Spiros, studied fashion design before going on to cosmetology school. Her training includes time with Vidal Sassoon, Aveda, and Tony and Guy, and she has both worked alongside and taught with several well-known stylists. Her work has appeared on television and in print, including Bravo's Shear Genius and editorial features in Behind the Chair and 303 Magazine.

The salon offers a professional space that gives stylists room to build their own business while serving each client with a customized approach.

A quiet, low-traffic setting that lets stylists work at their own pace.
