Streaks Hair Designs has operated in historic Laurel, Maryland, for more than 20 years. The salon is Black-owned and works with clients of every hair type and texture. According to the salon, its goal is to set a standard for style and self-expression.

A visit usually starts with a customized shampoo and conditioning treatment. Clients then choose a finish such as a blowout, roller set, wrap, silk press, or texture set. Complimentary consultations are offered to talk through hair goals, color options, and recommended services, and clients are welcome to bring reference photos.

Haircuts include a precision trim that removes damaged ends, followed by a reshape of the cut. Treatments are performed under a professional hydration steamer and include deep moisturizing masks, Hydra Silk treatments, and DRC protein treatments. Relaxers and texturizers can retouch new growth or create a new texture.

Color services include root retouching, shine enhancers, custom colors, highlights, and lowlights. Color is typically maintained every six to eight weeks, though timing varies with the color chosen and the condition of the hair. Extensions begin with a personalized consultation to match natural texture and color and to select a method, and the salon uses high-quality, ethically sourced hair.
