StephsCalmRoom is a small, one-person suite at 20528 North Main Street in Cornelius, operated by Stephanie as owner and holistic provider. Hours run Monday through Saturday, with start times at 10 AM or 2 PM and closing times between 2 PM and 8 PM depending on the day. The suite is closed on Sundays.

The suite uses organic, natural and inclusive holistic products, which the business describes as high-end. Its services pair head spa work with facial care, and clients are offered tea and a robe or wrap on some visits.

The longer combined visits are the Autumn Ritual (120 minutes or more, from $175), which includes fall aromatherapy, guided meditation, a mini facial, a 60-minute Japanese head spa and a round-brush blow out, plus a warm herbal tea, and the StephsCalmRoom Special (150 minutes or more, from $250), which combines a full head spa, a facial and a blow out finish. The Signature Calm (60 minutes, from $145) includes consultation, aromatherapy, a pre-shampoo detox, a warm-steam hair mask, pressure-point work and a robe, wrap, cozy socks and tea. The Deep Calm (90 minutes, from $195) adds scalp massage, hand relaxation, a scalp toner and a warm steam cap to those steps. The Quick Calm (45 minutes, from $100) covers exfoliation, shampoo, conditioning and a rough dry without the extended relaxation portion. For skin care alone, the Signature Facial (60 minutes, from $100) and the Express Glow (45 minutes, from $65) are offered.

Two services are performed on dry hair. The Calm Touch Dry Service (45 minutes or more, from $75) is a scalp treatment using scalp play, calming pressure and specialized tools, with no wash or products, and the Calm Touch Add On (30 minutes, from $50) can be added to another service. The Deep Sensory (45 minutes or more, from $75) is a scalp massage followed by a back treatment using light scratching, smooth wooden tools and a small amount of oil, with no shampooing, conditioning or styling. Hair should arrive clean, dry and detangled, and any detangling is counted within the appointment time.

A card on file is required to book. Cancellations made within 48 hours are charged 75 percent, and no-shows are charged in full. Each booking holds a reserved time that is not offered to other clients, so late cancellations and no-shows are a direct loss of income.

Holistic in approach, built on the view that skin care matters because skin is the body's largest organ. Visits are designed as one unhurried stop where clients can slow down.
