Star Lash Studio and Spa specializes in semi-permanent lash extensions, with each extension attached to a single natural lash. Extensions are never placed on the skin. The salon offers black extensions in several lengths as well as colored lashes, and describes its adhesive as high quality.
A visit begins with a discussion of products and recommendations so the lash design can be tailored to the client, including length and style. During application the bottom lashes are taped down, and the tape comes off once the upper extensions are finished. Full sets and fills are offered in classic, hybrid and mega volume styles. Fills are generally booked every two to four weeks, depending on how quickly a client's natural lashes grow and personal preference.
Beyond extensions, the salon offers lash lifts and lash tints, and an eyebrow lamination treatment that is semi-permanent and aims to make brows look fuller, thicker and more defined. Eyebrow lamination takes about 45 minutes to an hour, and results can last up to eight weeks. Waxing is available for brows, lip, chin, face, underarms, arms and legs.
Locations: the Sandy studio is at 10450 State Street, #1216, inside South Towne Center mall. Its entrance is on the west side at the lower level, near Macy's, and free parking is available. The Murray studio is at 250 E Winchester, just south of Fashion Place Mall. The West Jordan studio is at 1740 West 7800 South. Aftercare is part of the service. Clients are asked to avoid rubbing their lashes and to skip mascara for 48 hours before a first application or fill. For the first 48 hours afterward, lashes should stay dry and away from steam, oil-based products and sweating. After that, an oil-free makeup remover is recommended, and lashes can be brushed gently at the tips with the brush provided.
Lash designs are customized to each client, with products and recommendations discussed to choose length and style before application.
