Spruce & Cedar Salon

Spruce & Cedar is a shared space where independent stylists work under one roof. Each stylist sets their own services and prices, listed on their individual profile page. Clients book through the booking system linked on that profile, and appointments cannot be made by email. To ask about services, clients can call or text the stylist directly using the number on the profile.

Hours run Tuesday to Sunday, 10am to 8pm, but these are suggested and vary with each stylist's schedule. Children and pets are welcome when an adult who is not receiving a service supervises them, and service animals are always welcome. Cut and color clients should arrive with clean, styled hair unless their stylist says otherwise. Parking is on the refillable meters along Washington Blvd, with some free spots on Center St. and Harter Ave.

The space has modern, stand-behind shampoo bowls, a coffee and refreshments bar, complimentary towels and robes for guests, an on-site washer and dryer, and security cameras with a security system. The salon says its culture rests on professionalism, kindness and inclusivity.

Chairs are available for independent stylists to rent. Rental chairs include unshared color storage and a station, and renters get access to a fridge and microwave, a complimentary backbar, and 24-hour access. Renters set their own schedule Tuesday to Sunday, receive a dedicated bio page on the salon website with a booking link, and are showcased on the salon's social media. New renters get their first 10 weeks at half off. Renters who choose to sell retail pay the salon a 20% commission on those sales, and they receive yearly vacation time.

Stylists help clients update a look or maintain the one they have. The salon says it uses top-of-the-line products to keep hair healthy.
