The salon menu is split into groups. The barber course is taught by licensed instructors and includes supervised work with the public in the academy's student salon. Students must be at least 16 years old, submit an enrollment application and attend an interview with an academy representative. New classes begin on the second and fourth Tuesday of each month, and prospective students are asked to visit the academy to speak with an admissions officer.

Costs can be spread out through no-interest payment plans. Financial assistance options include the Ace Grant, an academy scholarship (applied for through a scholarship page), the Post 911 GI Bill and Veterans Vocational Rehabilitation.
