Co-owners Luane McWhorter and Stacey Maness have known each other since 1998. Their business partnership started in 2004, when they launched Sutera Spa in Flower Mound. After running that spa for more than a decade, they opened SpaVela in October 2020.

A visit starts with paperwork, so guests are asked to arrive 15 to 20 minutes early. Services begin at the booked time, and late arrivals have their service shortened so that every client still receives full service time. Private parking spaces are available, and both the men's and women's locker rooms have saunas and a steam room. Spa robes and slippers are provided for guests who want them, and the private party room can be used by groups before, between, or after services.

The menu spans facials, HydraFacial treatments, injectables, laser and light treatments, microneedling, peels, massage, body treatments, and waxing. Memberships, spa packages, gift cards, and a payment plan are also offered. Each member receives one credit per month, and unused credits roll over and do not expire. Product returns are accepted within 14 days for store credit only, and gift certificates are not refundable. Appointments can be booked online or by calling the front desk at (469) 549-4914. The spa is closed on Mondays, open Tuesday and Wednesday 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM, Thursday 9:00 AM to 8:00 PM, Friday and Saturday 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM, and Sunday 12:00 PM to 6:00 PM.
