About

Sparkling Feet was started by registered nurses Svetlana Shteyn and Marion Lee, who had worked together at a hospital for more than 14 years. While on the hospital floor they saw a gap in foot and nail care for older patients, and they set up the service to bring that care to people outside hospital settings. The business aims to give each client personal attention, thorough foot care and a complete foot health assessment. A visit covers a foot and general health check, cutting, filing, thinning and cleaning of nails, buffing of corns, calluses and rough skin, and a light massage. Clients also receive foot care education and recommendations, and moisturizer can be added. A one-leg foot care service is $45. An appointment of 30 minutes is $65 per client, and new clients pay $75 for a 45-minute appointment.

Services are offered on set days at senior centers and community sites. Edina Senior Center at 5280 Grandview Square is visited on the second and fourth Thursdays. Saint Louis Park Senior Center at Lenox Community Center at 6715 Minnetonka Blvd is visited on the first and fourth Wednesdays and some Mondays. The company serves people who have trouble reaching their own feet, and also anyone who simply wants a pampering treatment. Foot care is offered in English, Spanish and Russian. The business does not bill or accept insurance or Medicare. It accepts cash, check, credit card and Venmo, and tips are welcome. Cash or check is preferred because card payments carry fees.
