Spa Xanadu opened in 2002 in downtown Arcadia, a short distance from Pasadena, Sierra Madre, Monrovia, San Marino, and Bradbury. Its treatments blend Eastern and Western wellness philosophies, and the menu runs from massage and facials to body treatments, waxing, skin tightening, and packaged spa days.

About

The spa has three treatment areas designed for women, men, and couples. Robes, slippers, towels, private lockers, and bathing amenities are provided, and some spa packages begin in the wet room before the treatment. Spa access and amenities are included before service with Premium and Elite memberships, while Basic membership does not include them.

Massage options include Swedish, a Xanadu Massage that combines Swedish strokes with Shiatsu-style pressure point work, deep tissue, aromatherapy with an Anti-Stress or Re-energizing oil blend, pregnancy massage for the second and third trimesters, and hot stone massage with heated basalt stones. Facials range from the Nourish and Hydrating Facial and a Gentleman's Facial designed for men to Hydra Facial, microdermabrasion with a diamond tip, biobrasion, carboxy therapy, LED light therapy, and Hydradermie Lift by Guinot. Skin tightening is offered through Venus Legacy, a non-surgical treatment using radio frequency and pulsed electromagnetic technology, for the face, neck, eyes, and body areas.

According to the spa, it was voted among the top ten day spas in Los Angeles by about.com and Spa Living Magazine. The spa also reports receiving a Readers Choice Award for 2012-2013, and says L.A. Hot List nominated it for Best Spa in LA in 2009 and 2010. The spa lists coverage in Day Spa Magazine, on KTLA5, and on California Adventure TV on Kcal9. These are the spa's own claims.

Treatments draw on both Eastern and Western wellness traditions.
