Sophia Marzocchi, a master esthetician with nearly two decades of work in Los Angeles, founded Spa Sophia after she could not find the skincare solutions she needed elsewhere. The spa describes its Abbot Kinney location as a hidden gem on a busy block in Venice.

About

Care is built around holistic skin health and long-term results rather than quick fixes. Each client receives a personalized skincare plan. Advanced Facials begin with a skin analysis and consultation, and the team helps clients choose products and shows them how to use them at home. The spa says the products it sells are the same ones used in its treatment room.

The technology menu centers on PRX, a needle-free topical biostimulator treatment that takes about 30 minutes and is offered in several formulas, singly or as a series. Plasma treatments use a cold atmospheric plasma device with no required downtime; the device is FDA-regulated and CE-approved. Energy sessions such as Reiki and Craniosacral Therapy, along with an herb-infused gemstone facial, sit alongside the skin treatments.

The location is calmer than the lively stretch of street around it, with tall ceilings, exposed beams and plenty of daylight. Opening times are 10am to 8pm Monday to Friday, 10am to 5pm on Saturday, and 10am to 8pm on Sunday. Drivers can use two-hour metered spots on Abbot Kinney, park on nearby residential streets at no charge, or leave a car in the paid valet lot behind the spa. Guests should cancel or move appointments at least 24 hours in advance and arrive 15 minutes before their start time. Appointments are confirmed and intake forms completed through the online portal. Cancelling or rescheduling late means paying the full price of the service.

The spa works toward holistic, long-term skin health with a personalized skincare plan for each client, focusing on practices it describes as safe, informed and in line with the skin's natural balance.
