Soma Wellness Spa is a local, woman-owned business in Hillsboro. The spa combines Western medical expertise with Ayurveda, and much of its menu is built on Ayurvedic-inspired work such as Abhyanga, Shirodhara and herbal steam, alongside Swedish, deep tissue, myofascial and sports massage.

The space is kept simple, natural and warm, with earth, fire and water elements woven through it.

The spa says massage from a licensed therapist can help with injury, muscle tension, chronic pain, stress, posture and sleep issues. It suggests one massage a month for maintenance, adjusted through a customized plan, and a facial every four to six weeks for most people. For acne, hyperpigmentation or anti-aging concerns, it suggests facials every two to three weeks during a corrective series.

Visits are by appointment only, booked by phone at (503) 747-6244 or online. Gratuity is not included in listed prices. The spa does not bill insurance directly, but it accepts HSA and FSA cards and provides an itemized receipt on request. Cancellations after 4:00 pm the day before an appointment incur a 50% charge, missed appointments are charged in full, and arriving more than 15 minutes late counts as a no-show. Pregnant clients are advised to wait until at least 12 weeks for a first massage, and to wait one week after a vaginal birth or four to six weeks after a cesarean, or as their OB recommends.
