About

Solar Nails Lounge & Spa is a nail salon and spa in Metairie, offering hand and foot care alongside nail enhancements, eyelash extensions and a short list of waxing services. The salon says its focus is on client safety, needs and satisfaction, and that it keeps looking for new nail designs and trends.

The menu is organized by area. Feet services include pedicures, gel pedicures, the Pedi In A Box, toe polish changes and add-ons such as French tips, gel toes, paraffin and a 10-minute massage. Hand services include manicures, gel manicures, dip powder sets, dip with manicure or extension, French dip, nail art and polish changes. Combination visits pair a pedicure with a manicure, gel manicure or dip powder. Nail enhancements include full sets, refills, Gel X, TAP Gel and the salon's own Solar Fullset and Solar Refill, with gel polish available on fullsets and refills. Appointments run from 10 minutes for a toe polish change to about an hour for most combinations and enhancements; the booking site lists a manicure at 30 minutes, a gel manicure at 40 minutes, a pedicure at 30 minutes and a dip powder set at 50 minutes.

The salon offers a heated spa pedicure chair. Tools and electrical instruments are cleaned and sanitized with an approved process before reuse, files and buffers are single-use, and staff are said to follow a sanitization protocol. The salon describes dip powder as a healthier technique that holds up as well as acrylics and lasts without a light; that is the salon's own claim.

Clients can book online at any hour, by phone or in person, and walk-ins are welcome. Waxing needs no appointment and can be added to any booked service or done alone as a walk-in. Cancellations need 24 hours notice. Gel polish receives complimentary fixes within 7 days of service, and regular polish may last from one to seven days depending on the client, so the salon does not guarantee how long it wears. The salon also describes itself as the top-rated nail salon in Metairie and as offering affordable, professional service; those are the salon's own descriptions.

Focused on client safety, needs and satisfaction, with a stated sanitization protocol for tools and single-use files and buffers.

Described as cozy and polished, with a friendly staff and a relaxed, city-style feel.
