Sola Salons runs the Sola Salon Studios location at 1553 Forest Avenue. Rather than employing stylists, it rents each suite to a professional who operates their own business. Each Sola Salon Studios location is independently owned and operated.
Private suites are available to independent practitioners across hair, beauty, wellness and body work. Those who can use them include barbers and hairstylists, lash and brow technicians, makeup artists, nail technicians, waxers and laser hair removers. Estheticians, massage therapists, medical spa operators, health and wellness professionals, tattoo artists, permanent makeup artists and hair extension specialists are also welcome. Every suite comes with a shampoo bowl and a styling chair.
Each suite has its own lock and key on a glass door, so the tenant has exclusive access to the space. Tenants pay one weekly fee that covers all utilities and Wi-Fi. They set their own working hours and their own service and product prices, choose the brands they carry and keep the profits. They may personalize the room with artwork, music and furniture.
Shared amenities include full-spectrum lighting, 24/7 security, on-site laundry, bathroom facilities, a breakroom and instant hot water. Prospective tenants can book an in-person tour with the location's tour manager. According to the company, renting a suite can cost about the same as renting a chair or booth in a traditional salon. The company also states that its community includes more than 20,000 independent business owners.
Suite rental model in which each tenant runs an independent business, setting their own prices and choosing their own products.
Private, lockable suites on a shared floor, each one set up and decorated by the tenant who uses it.
