Sola Salons

About

Sola Salons is a studio rental business rather than a service salon.

The company says its community includes more than 20,000 independent salon owners and describes its studio owner community as the largest of its kind. Each Sola Salon Studios location is independently owned and operated, and the brand is also sold through a franchising program.

Each studio comes with a styling chair and a shampoo bowl, and renters can decorate and furnish the space as they choose. Every studio has a glass door with its own lock and key. Shared amenities include on-site laundry, a breakroom, bathroom facilities, and janitorial service, while the building offers 24/7 security, full-spectrum lighting, sound-insulated walls, and ventilation. Studio access hours vary by location.

Renters pay one weekly fee that covers utilities and Wi-Fi, and the company says its billing has no surprise fees. Renters choose the brands and retail products they carry and keep all profit from those sales.

Support for new renters includes a start-up manual with checklists, forms, and guidance on obtaining salon and other licenses and permits, along with advice on insurance, equipment, paint, and credit card processing. Renters also get retail support, distributor contacts, and access to liability insurance and, in certain areas, disability insurance. Other benefits include retail discounts, online scheduling offers, continuing education programs, and industry events, and the company hosts community gatherings such as cocktail parties, family picnics, and get-togethers for local renters. Prospective renters can request a tour before leasing.

Sola Salons offers studio space with a supportive, community-oriented setup for independent professionals who want to run their own businesses.
