Sola Salons

The Orland Park location is a suite-based studio at the northwest corner of La Grange Avenue and 159th Street, about a mile south of Orland Square Mall. Each suite is rented privately to an independent professional, who runs their own business from it.

The business is part of the Sola Salon Studios franchise system, and each location is independently owned and operated. The company describes its community of independent studio owners as the largest of its kind. It does not take responsibility for the day-to-day operations, employment or personnel matters of franchise owners or the independent professionals who rent suites at its locations.

Renters are offered help getting started. A start-up manual covers checklists, forms and tips for obtaining a salon license and other licenses and permits. Start-up support also covers studio setup details such as insurance, the equipment needed and paint. Renters can also get tips on credit card processing, retail support and distributor contacts.

Independent renters have access to liability insurance, and disability insurance is available in certain areas. Renters also receive retail discounts, special offers for online scheduling, continuing education programs and invitations to industry events.

The studio community is social as well. Local members gather for events such as cocktail parties and family picnics.
