The company says it has more than 20 years of experience working with independent professionals and describes its network as 750+ locations across the U.S. and Canada. Each Sola Salon Studios location is independently owned and operated, and Sola states that it is not responsible for the operations, employment or personnel matters of franchise owners or the independent professionals who rent suites.

Renters pay one weekly fee that covers all utilities and Wi-Fi. Each suite has a glass door with its own lock and key, and renters may decorate the space and choose their own artwork, music and furniture. Studio customizations are available, and suites include individual studio locks, bathroom facilities and on-site parking.

Sola supports renters beyond the space itself. It provides a start-up manual with forms, tips and information on setting up a salon business, help obtaining a salon license and other licenses and permits, credit card processing tips, and retail support with distributor contacts. Renters have access to liability insurance and disability insurance, the latter in certain areas, along with retail discounts, online scheduling offers and continuing education programs. The company also hosts community events for local members, such as cocktail parties and family picnics.

Sola is built around independent professionals running their own businesses, with the renter setting its services, products and look while Sola handles the space and support.
