Sola Salons leases salon studios to independent beauty and wellness professionals rather than employing a team. The Lincolnshire location has 38 individual studios, and each one is rented by a professional who sets their own work hours within the building's access hours.

The studios are open to a wide range of trades, including hairstylists, barbers, estheticians, massage therapists, nail technicians, makeup artists, head and scalp spa providers, brow and lash artists, microbladers, and tattoo and permanent makeup artists. Each studio includes a styling chair and a shampoo bowl, and each has its own lock and key on the glass door.

Because every studio owner sets their own prices and chooses what products to sell, the services and pricing differ from one studio to the next. Owners keep all profits from their services and from any brands they sell. The company states it has more than 20,000 independent business owners in its community. Each Sola location is independently owned and operated.

The building covers the basics for working professionals: one weekly fee includes all utilities and Wi-Fi, and amenities include 24/7 security, full-spectrum lighting, on-site laundry, ventilation, a breakroom, bathroom facilities and janitorial services. Studio owners also choose their own artwork, music, furniture and decor, so each space reflects its occupant.
